Three miles of Georgia Avenue will be closed to vehicles to allow people to walk\, run\, bike\, and play. \nThe route will include hourly programmed classes and demonstrations\, including yoga\, dancing\, and more! The event is free and suitable for all ages and abilities. No cars\, just people! \nBike Giveaway\nDDOT is excited to announce our first Bike Giveaway for Open Streets Georgia Avenue where District residents can apply to receive a FREE BIKE.  170 bikes (130 adult\, 40 children’s) are available for District residents\, with 50 percent dedicated for underserved residents identified by community partners.

DESCRIPTION:The Celebrate Petworth Festival is held on the 800 block of Upshur Street NW in Washington\, D.C.’s Petworth neighborhood. The festival is a day-long celebration of community that includes music\, arts\, kids’ activities\, and healthy living. It also features local vendors and artists\, food\, and participating businesses.\nThe 2024 Celebrate Petworth Festival will take place on Saturday\, September 14\, from 11 AM–5 PM.  \nThe festival will include:\nMain stage: Live music and entertainment from local performers\nVendors: Over 40 vendors and exhibitors with art\, food\, and crafts\nDog show: A major hit of the festival  \nThe festival was started in 2014 by a group of community organizers led by Tom Pipkin. The festival’s goal is to bring together residents\, local businesses\, and community-based organizations.
