Disability Awareness Workshop for Workforce Practitioners

Please join us for a Disability Awareness workshop for workforce practitioners on Tuesday, July 15 from 11 am – 12 pm at the Coalition located at 727 15th Street, NW (8th floor conference room). This workshop is hosted by the DC Job Developers Network, and will be led by Sylvia Bailey-Charles, Business Relations Specialist, DC Department on Disability Services, Rehabilitation Services Administration. Lunch will be provided.
The workshop will cover the following:
- Examine stereotypes associated with common disabilities
- Explore biases toward specific disabilities
- Help you better understand attitudes about people with disabilities and the effect they can have on our relationships with each other
- Become aware of how our perceptions impact hiring and supervisory decisions
